Dominican-born pitcher Framber Valdez plays for the Houston Astros in Major League Baseball. Valdez became a free agent international signee for the Astros in 2015.
He started throwing at the age of 16. As an international free agent, Valdez signed a $10,000 signing bonus with the Houston Astros on March 19, 2015. At age 21, he was five years older than the bulk of amateur free agents from his country.
