Gabriel James Speier (born April 12, 1995) is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Kansas City Royals (MLB). In 2019, he made his Major League Baseball debut.



The Diamondbacks traded Speier and Elvis Luciano to the Kansas City Royals on June 6, 2018, for Jon Jay. The Northwest Arkansas Naturals were his next stop.



He was 1-0 with a 3.39 ERA in 46 bullpen appearances between the two teams. After starting the season with Northwest Arkansas, he was promoted to the Omaha Storm Chasers.

The Royals chose Speier’s contract and promoted him to the major leagues on September 3, 2019. On September 5, he made his major league debut against the Detroit Tigers, pitching a scoreless inning in relief.

Speier pitched in 8 games for the 2020 Kansas City Royals, going 0-1 with a 7.94 ERA and 6 strikeouts in 5.2 innings thrown. Speier was assigned on November 20, 2020.

For the 2021 season, Speier was assigned to Triple-A Omaha. He pitched in 45 games with them, finishing 3-0 with a 2.98 ERA and 57 strikeouts. The Royals chose Speier’s contract on September 15, 2021.
