Gabriel Alejandro Arias, professionally called Gabriel Arias is one of the professional baseball players known to play as a shortstop for the Cleveland Guardians baseball team. He is of Venezuelan descent and was born on February 27, 2000, in the city of La Victoria in Venezuela.

Growing up, Gabriel played baseball in school and had his amateur baseball career in his hometown. He was signed as an international free agent by the San Diego Padres in 2016. He made his professional debut the following season in 2017 after he was assigned to play with the Arizona League Padres and Fort Wayne TinCaps.

He was also selected to play in the Australian Baseball League for the Canberra Cavalry. The Padres assigned him to spend the 2018 season with the Fort Wayne and he played for Lake Elsinore Storm in 2019.

The Padres invited him to their spring training in 2020 and in August that year, the Cleveland Guardians purchased his contract from the Padres. The Indians selected his contract and added him to their 40-man roster in November 2020.

During the 2021 season, the Guardians assigned him to spend the season with the Triple-A Columbus Clippers and he spent the beginning of the 2022 season with Columbus. He was promoted to the major leagues by the Guardians on April 20, 2022, and he made his MLB debut that day for the team.
