After relocating to the United States in 2018, he split the season between the GCL Blue Jays and the Appalachian League’s Bluefield Blue Jays, and his output skyrocketed.

He hit .360/.395/.575, with 24 runs and 36 RBIs in 40 games.

He was then sidetracked by events beyond his control, when the COVID-19 epidemic forced the minor leagues to close for the 2020 season.

He did get to spend time with the Blue Jays’ alternate training facility in Rochester, NY, along with other top prospects in the organization, and then spent the next winter with the Venezuelan League’s Cardenales de Lara, batting .373 in 18 games.

Despite being limited to 37 minor league games due to injuries in 2021, he continued his relentless hitting.
