For the National Football League’s Kansas City Chiefs, George Karlaftis plays defensive end. He attended West Lafayette Junior-Senior High School to play high school football before moving on to Purdue to play college football.

Due to a favourable COVID-19 outcome in 2020 as a sophomore, he only participated in three games, concluding the season with four tackles and two sacks.

He was awarded to both the Second Team and Second Academic All-Big Ten Academic Team. He recorded three tackles for the year, including two solo stops against Iowa on October 24 and a sack. He made another sack against Illinois on October 31.
