George Kirby Parents: Who Are George Kirby Parents?

George Joseph Kirby (born February 8, 1998) is a Major League Baseball pitcher who pitches for the Seattle Mariners.

Kirby was selected by the Seattle Mariners with the 20th overall choice in the 2019 Major League Baseball draft. Seattle paid $3.24 million for his services.

Following his signing, he was sent to the Class A Short Season Northwest League’s Everett AquaSox, where he played the entire 2019 season. Kirby pitched to a 2.35 ERA in nine games (eight starts) and struck out 25 batters in 23 innings.



Due to the postponement of the minor league season due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Kirby did not play a minor league game in 2020. He returned to Everett at the beginning of 2021, now as a member of the High-A West.

He was sent to the Double-A Central’s Arkansas Travelers in August. Kirby went 5–3 with a 2.53 ERA in 15 starts between the two organizations, striking out 80 hitters in 67+23 innings.

For the 2022 season, Kirby will return to Arkansas.
Kirby’s contract was picked and he was promoted to the major leagues on May 8, 2022, by the Mariners.

He made his Major League Baseball debut that day, pitching six shutout innings while striking out seven batters against the Tampa Bay Rays.
