For the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League, Germain Ifedi is a professional football player who lines up at offensive tackle. He is 151 kilograms and 1.96 meters tall. He was a three-sport athlete in track, basketball, and football when a student at Westside High School. By the Associated Press, he was named to the second team of All-State.

Ifedi was ranked as the class’s No. 15 offensive guard prospect by and given a four-star rating as a recruit. He received a four-star rating from ESPN as well. He attended Texas A&M University after high school, where he played collegiate football from 2012 to 2015 for the Texas A&M Aggies. In 2012, he was a freshmen wearing a redshirt. He started all 13 games of the season as a redshirt freshman in 2013.

In the 2016 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks selected Ifedi with the 31st overall choice. He agreed to a four-year, $8.27 million contract in May 2016. On October 2, 2016, he began his first career game and made his NFL debut. His contract’s fifth-year option was rejected by the Seahawks in May 2019, making him a free agent in 2020. He agreed to a one-year contract on April 1, 2020, with the Chicago Bears.

He renewed his contract with the Bears in April 2021. In Week 5 of the 2021 campaign, he damaged his knee, and on October 13 he was put on injured reserve. In December 2021, he was made active. He committed to the Atlanta Falcons on April 6, 2022, for a single season.
