Grady Jarrett Parents: Meet Jessie Tuggle and Elisha Jarrett

Jarrett attended Rockdale County High School in Conyers, Georgia. He was a four-year starter on both sides of the ball, and over his last two seasons, he had 198 tackles, 63 tackles for a loss, and 27.5 sacks.



A two-time All-state selection, Grady Jarrett who is an American football defensive end for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL), attended Rockdale County High School in Conyers, Georgia.

He was a four-year starter on both sides of the ball, and over his last two seasons, he had 198 tackles, 63 tackles for a loss, and 27.5 sacks. As a senior, he was chosen three times as the team’s top defensive player after accumulating 101 tackles (31.5 for a loss), nine sacks, and selections to the second team of the region’s All-Offense team.

He also participated in the North-South All-Star game in Georgia as well as the Florida Maxx Scout All-Star Bowl, where he recorded a total of 17 tackles, seven tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles over the course of the two contests.

Meet Jessie Tuggle and Elisha Jarrett

Jessie Tuggle

Grady’s father is called Jessie Tuggle. He is a retired American football linebacker who spent his whole career with the Atlanta Falcons from 1987 to 2000.

In Valdosta, Georgia, he received his degree from Valdosta State College. He participated in Super Bowl XXXIII and the Pro Bowl five times each. The force of his tackles has earned him the moniker “The Hammer.”

Tuggle’s career was marred by injuries toward the end, and he decided to retire during training camp in 2001. He made 1640 tackles (164 of which were aided), 21 sacks, 6 interceptions that he recovered for 106 yards and a score, 10 forced fumbles, and 37 pass deflections during the course of his 14 seasons.

Additionally, he recovered ten fumbles, returning them for 155 yards and a league-high five touchdowns.

Elisha Jarett
