For the National Football League’s Buffalo Bills, Greg Van Roten plays as a football guard.When Van Roten was 11 years old, he joined the Baldwin Bombers’ youth football program. From 2005 until 2008, he attended Chaminade High School in Mineola, New York. He participated in NCAA football for the University of Pennsylvania’s Penn Quakers.
From 2008 to 2012, Pennsylvania’s Van Roten was an Ivy League All-Conference tackle. At the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, he received a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a Marketing Concentration. Van Roten was an active member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and the fraternity Delta Tau Delta while attending Penn.
In July 2012, the Green Bay Packers signed him. Between 2012 and 2013, he took part in 10 games with the Packers. In February 2014, the Packers fired him. On February 14, 2014, he agreed to a contract with the Seattle Seahawks; however, on August 27, they released him. He signed a contract with the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts in May 2015.
He signed a contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars in February 2017, but was fired in May. He entered into a contract with the Carolina Panthers in July 2017 and a three-year deal with the New York Jets in April 2020. In May 2022, the Jets released him. He agreed to a year-long contract with the Buffalo Bills in June 2022.
