Augustus Edwards professionally known as “Gus” Edwards is a professional football running back for the Baltimore Ravens in the National Football League. He was born in Liberia on April 13, 1995.



He played collegiate football at Miami (FL) before enrolling at Rutgers, and in 2018 he signed with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent.

Edwards was born in Liberia and immigrated to the US when he was five years old. Tottenville High School was where he went to school and played football in high school.

ESPN, 247Sports, Rivals, and Scout.com all rated Edwards as a three-star prospect. Edwards attended the University of Miami from 2013 to 2016 then transferred to Rutgers as a graduate student in 2017.

On May 4, 2018, Edwards agreed to terms with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent.

On September 1, 2018, he was discharged, and the next day he was added to the practice squad. He was promoted to the active roster on October 13, 2018.

Edwards received a restricted free agent offer from the Ravens in the second round on March 10, 2021.

He and the company reached an agreement on a two-year, $10 million contract extension on June 7.

Edwards tore his ACL during practice on September 8, 2021, ending his season. He was added to the injured reserve the following day.
