How Did Yankees Get Stephen Ridings?

Stephen Thomas Ridings is a professional baseball pitcher from the United States who currently plays for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball. Ridding  made his professional  debut for the Yankees in 2021,



Ridings went to Haverford College after graduating from St. Anthony’s High School in South Huntington, New York.

How Did Yankees Get Stephen Ridings?

Ridings joined the New York Yankees on January 18, 2021, after signing a minor league contract with the team.



Ridings started the year with the Somerset Patriots of the Double-A level, where he had an outstanding 0.47 earned run average in 14 appearances with the team before being promoted to the Triple-A level.

A no-hitter was thrown by him, Luis Gil, and Reggie McClain on July 21 while they were all pitching for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.

Ridings made his major league debut on August 3, 2021, striking out three hitters while allowing one hit. Luis Gil opened the game, while Brody Koerner pitched as well.

The Yankees had three pitchers make their debuts in the same game for the first time on September 26, 1950.

Ridings pitched to a 1.80 ERA in five big league outings before being sent to Triple-A Scranton on August 17. On November 19, 2021, the Yankees added Ridings to their 40-man roster following the 2021 season.
