Kellen Diesch, from Byron Nelson High School in Trophy Club, Texas, was the No. 105 player in the US and a four-star recruit. Despite offers from Alabama, Tennessee, and Arkansas, he ultimately decided to attend Texas A&M. The lack of playing time at Texas (he redshirted his first year) contributed to his move to Arizona State as a graduate student in 2020.
He had a phenomenal freshman year at Arizona, allowing just one sack on 261 plays (in four games), which landed him on the watch list for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award. He was also a second-team all-conference selection as a tackle for the Pac-12.
While starting all 13 games for the first time, he had some strong performances as a left tackle and allowed only two sacks on 768 offensive plays. Due to this, Diesch has been invited to play in the East-West Shrine Bowl, where he may show off his skills.

Kellen Diesch is an NFL-caliber lineman thanks to his exceptional pass-blocking abilities and instincts in the defensive line. Although his lack of playing time is concerning, his impressive play and impressive skill set in the games we have seen make up for it.
He isn’t a flawless pick, though, since he needs to bulk up in order to succeed in the NFL. We think Diesch has a high floor and a moderate ceiling and might have a successful career as a starting tackle in the NFL.
In the 2022 NFL Draft, he will probably hear his name called sometime around the third round.
