Before being selected by the Dolphins in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft, he participated in collegiate football at the University of Massachusetts.

On February 3, 2016, he gave his word that he would attend UMass. During his time in college, he made the switch from defensive end to an offensive lineman.

Coleman was taken by the Miami Dolphins with the 231st overall choice in the NFL Draft in 2021, which took place on May 1 of that year.

On May 13, 2021, Coleman signed a rookie contract with Miami that was for a total of four years. On August 31, 2021, he was transferred to the injured reserve status.

Coleman was released by the Dolphins on the 30th of August, 2022, and re-signed to the practice squad the same day.
