During the ninth round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft, the Houston Astros picked Papierski. In May 2022, he signed with the San Francisco Giants, where he made his MLB debut.

Papierski gained his high school education at Lemont High School while growing up in Lemont, Illinois. He was selected in the 16th round of the 2014 Major League Baseball draft by the Toronto Blue Jays, but he decided to enroll at LSU rather than sign with them.

For three seasons at LSU, Papierski played baseball as his sport of choice. He filled in at catcher for the majority of Kade Scivicque’s rookie season. He participated in the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox as a summer baseball player in 2015.

The Houston Astros drafted Papierskin in the ninth round of the Major League Baseball draft in 2017. After joining the team, he was reassigned to the Tri-City ValleyCats of the New York-Penn League.

The Astros acquired Papierski from the San Francisco Giants in exchange for Mauricio Dubón on May 14, 2022. On May 21, 2022, Papierski was added to the Giants’ major league roster. He made his debut against the San Diego Padres later that day in a 2-1 loss.
