Parker Mushinski is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2022.
He went to Argyle High School in Argyle, Texas, and studied there. Mushinski had a 2.10 ERA in 51 innings pitched as a senior in 2014. He struck out 98 batters.
Mushinski, who went undrafted out of high school, played college baseball for the Texas Tech Red Raiders for three seasons (2015-2017).
A junior season with a 3–2 record, a 2.15 ERA, and 47 strikeouts in 37+2/3 innings yielded a 47-strikeout season. Houston Astros selected him in the 7th round of the 2017 MLB draft and he agreed to a contract with the team.
With the Tri-City ValleyCats in 2017, Mushinski had a 3-1 record with a 3.60 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 30 innings. It’s been a great year for him, with four wins, two losses, and two saves for the Quad Cities River Bandits.
GCL Astros, Fayetteville Woodpeckers, and Corpus Christi Hooks all used Mushinski in 2019, and he went 0–2 with a 4.35 ERA and 75 strikeouts in 62 innings of work between them.
Because of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Minor League Baseball season was canceled in 2020, and he was unable to play.
