Whit Merrifield is an American professional baseball second baseman and outfielder for the Kansas City Royals of Major League Baseball (MLB).

He began his professional career with the Royals after he was selected in the ninth round of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft.

He hit.253/.317/.409 in 47 games, with five home runs and 26 RBIs. Merrifield had a.262 batting average with five home runs and 36 RBIs for the Wilmington Blue Rocks in 2011.

In 125 games with both Wilmington and the Northwest Arkansas Naturals in 2012, he hit.258 with nine home runs and 44 RBIs.

He spent the 2013 season with the Northwest Arkansas Razorbacks, where he batted. In 94 games, he hit .270/.319/.391 with three home runs and 43 RBIs.

Merrifield began 2014 with the Northwest Arkansas Razorbacks before being promoted to the Omaha Storm Chasers midway through the season.

He slashed in 120 games between the two clubs with eight home runs and 49 RBIs, he hit 319/.371/.470.

Merrifield batted .265 with five home runs and 38 RBIs in 135 games for Omaha in 2015. To begin the 2016 season, he returned to Omaha.
