How many sacks did Justin Houston have last year?

After coming so close in previous weeks, Justin Houston had to wait for his 100th career sack, but he finally got it Thursday night in Miami.

Houston became the 37th player in league history to record 100 sacks as he tackled Dolphins quarterback Jacoby Brissett to reach the milestone. Currently, Houston has 100.5.

The Rams’ Von Miller (110.5 sacks), the Cardinals’ Chandler Jones (103), and J.J. Watt (103 sacks) are the only three active players with more sacks than Houston (100.5).

“I am aware that is significant in this league. Few people have tried it, “Houston claimed. And I merely consider it a privilege that I have the chance to do it at all.

Houston has recorded three sacks so far this year. He reached 99.5 in Week 6’s game against the Chargers and has since recorded seven quarterback hits in addition to one earlier in the Miami game, but he has consistently come up just short of being sacked.

Although Houston lifted both hands in the air following the play, there was little to no celebration because Brissett (knee) was hurt during the play, which caused a hush to fall over the stadium prior to the Dolphins’ punt.
