Myles James Noble Straw is a former Astro outfielder who currently plays for  the Cleveland Guardians in the  Major League Baseball

In the first half of the 2021 season, the Houston Astros used Myles Straw as their starting center fielder. Straw was filling in for George Springer, who had departed as a free agent prior to this point in the season.

He played well, hitting .262 with a solid defense, but lacked any power in his game.

On the deadline day for trades on July 30, the Houston Astros surprised everyone by sending him to the Cleveland Indians in exchange for the middle reliever Phil Maton and the minor leaguer Yainer Diaz.

Even though he performed even better for Cleveland, hitting.285 in 60 games with an OPS+ of 104, the Astros had ready replacements in the form of rookies Chas McCormick and Jake Meyer, whilst the Indians had few options available inside the organization to strengthen their bullpen.

The Astros were able to get all the way to the World Series without him, and he ended up going to watch them play there as a fan.
