Trent Sherfield is a wide receiver for the National Football League team, the Miami Dolphins.
Sherfield completed his career at Vanderbilt with a total of 136 receptions and ranked eighth in school history for both receiving yards and receptions.

During his senior season, he led the team in receptions with 50, set a career-high with 729 receiving yards, and scored five touchdowns.

On May 9, 2018, Sherfield became a member of the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent after signing with the team.



Sherfield scored a touchdown on a blocked punt that he recovered on August 23, 2018, against the Dallas Cowboys in a preseason game. He caught two catches for a total of 44 yards the following week during a game against the Denver Broncos.

As a rookie, Sherfield participated in 13 games and started two of them. He finished the season with 19 receptions, 210 yards, and one touchdown.

On November 27, 2020, the Cardinals placed Sherfield on the reserve/COVID-19 list. He was brought back into the active roster on December 2, 2020.

On March 19, 2021, Sherfield inked a contract to play for the San Francisco 49ers. Sherfield was officially included on the 49er’s 53-man roster heading into the 2021 season after his preseason performance, which consisted of five receptions for 156 yards and a score spread out over the course of three games.

On March 18, 2022, Sherfield became a member of the Miami Dolphins organization after signing a contract with them for a single season.
