How Much Did It Cost To Build Tiger Stadium?

Tiger Stadium to be specific in baseball as we all know is the home stadium of the Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball. It had been the home of the League team since the year 2000 till date. The stadium is known to have been named after Comerica Bank which was founded in Detroit.

The stadium was founded in the year 1984. Before that, the Tigers were clinged to their playing days at the corner of Michigan and Trumbull Avenues in Detroit’s Corktown neighborhood since the year 1896 when it was known that Bennett Park opened. Then Tigers owner one Frank Navin gave a directive regarding the construction of a new ballpark which was to be built on the same site. Then in the year 1912 the ball park was opened which is now known as the Tiger Stadium.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the New stadium at the time was held in the year 1997 in October. After that, the first game on the pitch was held on April 11, 2000 which was against the Seattle Mariners.

Tiger Stadium was a multi-use facility that was once known as Navin Field and Briggs Stadium. $300,000 was spent on construction ($8.42 million in 2021 currencies).
