According to The Athletic, the average player salary for a minor league player was $6,000 in Single-A, $9,350 in Double-A and $15,000 in Triple-A in 2018. A minor league baseball player at Rookie Ball can earn as little as $4,800 for an entire year.

Professional players are usually paid a salary based on their performance and the number of games they play in a season. According to ESPN, the average salary for a Minor League Baseball player in 2019 was $4.17 million.

The average salary for a pitcher is $5 million, while the average salary for a catcher is $3.5 million. The MiLB salary distribution is skewed in favor of higher-paid players.

The majority of player salaries are made by the top 10%, while the bottom 20% make only a small percentage. Among the player levels in Minor League Baseball, the highest paid is Triple-A.

Minor League players are however more likely to be paid less than major league players because they don’t have same opportunities and are not drafted much.
