Taylor Michael Jones is an American professional baseball first baseman and outfielder who currently plays for the Houston Astros in Major League Baseball.

Jones was born on December 6, 1993, in the United States (MLB). He attended Gonzaga University during his collegiate baseball career.

In the 2016 Major League Baseball draft, the Houston Astros selected Jones in the 19th round. He made his MLB debut in 2020.



Jones had his high school education at Kentwood in Covington, Washington, where he participated in the sports of basketball and baseball.

During his senior year of baseball in 2012, he guided his team to the state title for the 4A division. After going unselected in the Major League Baseball draft in 2012, he decided to enrol at Gonzaga University, where he played baseball for the collegiate team.

Jones pitched 17 innings with an earned run average of 5.29 in his rookie year at Gonzaga. He also batted.233 in 28 games during that season.

In 2014, as a sophomore, he posted a record of 4-3 with an earned run average of 4.71 over 14 starts. In addition, he hit.211 with one home run while participating in 29 games. In 2015, which was his junior year, he started putting all of his attention into hitting and playing first base.

In a total of 44 games, he had a batting average of.358, five home runs, and thirty runs batted in, and he was selected to the First Team All-WCC.

Following the season, he was selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 35th round of the Major League Baseball draft in 2015; however, he did not sign with the team.

During the previous summer, he was a member of the Anchorage Bucs of the Alaska Baseball League, where he played summer collegiate baseball.

In 2016, he was a senior and participated in 56 games, recording a slash line of.332/.399/.509 with two home runs and 36 RBIs, which earned him a spot on the All-WCC Second Team.
