Hunter Dozier is the full name of Hunter Dozier. William Dozier is an American professional baseball third baseman who was born on August 22, 1991, in Wichita Falls, Texas. After previously playing at Stephen F. Austin State University, he was taken by the Royals in the first round of the 2013 draft. In 2016, he made his Major League debut. Devin Dozier is Hunter’s younger brother.
His early years were spent at Denton High School in Denton, Texas, where he was a member of the baseball and American teams. His football hopes were cut short when he shattered his clavicle in his Junior year, while still in his early years. When he reached his senior year, he moved his focus to baseball.
Dozier attended Stephen F. Austin State University after graduating from high school. He was voted Player of the Year in the Southland Conference.
Dozier began his professional career after being drafted eighth overall in the 2013 Major League Baseball draft. He signed a $2.2 million signing bonus with the Royals. Before joining the major league, he played minor league baseball with the Idaho Falls Chukars.
Dozier was promoted to the major leagues in the year September 2, 2016, and made his first appearance on September 12. He as well recorded his first Major League hit on September 16.
