Christian Hunter Greene is a professional baseball pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds. He was born on August 6, 1999. He attended Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California.



The Reds selected Greene with the second overall choice in the 2017 Major League Baseball draft. In 2008, he began baseball training at the Major League Baseball (MLB) Urban Youth Academy in Compton, California.

He was a part of the United States national baseball team that won the gold medal in the 2015 Baseball World Cup for 18-and-under players. Greene went to Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, where he pitched and played shortstop for the school’s baseball team.



Greene now resides in Stevenson Ranch, California. Senta, his mother, works as an educational consultant. Russell, his father, is a private investigator and a former Humboldt State University football player.

Russell formerly worked with Johnnie Cochran and now has his own practice in Hollywood. Hunter has two younger siblings: Libriti, a sister, and Ethan, a brother.

Libriti was diagnosed with leukemia when she was five years old, and she went into remission four years later. Greene paints and plays the violin in addition to baseball.
