Hunter Renfroe Age: How Old Is Hunter Renfroe?

The Boston Red Sox drafted outfielder Hunter Renfroe in the 31st round of the amateur draft in 2010. He declined to sign and chose to enroll at Mississippi State University.

The San Diego Padres and scout Andrew Salvo then selected him with the 13th overall choice in the first round of the 2013 amateur draft, and he signed for a $2.678 million bonus.

On July 11th, he played in his first professional game with the Eugene Emeralds, going 2-for-4 with a run scored against the Everett AquaSox.

He hit.306 with 34 doubles, 30 home runs, and 105 RBIs in 133 games for the El Paso Chihuahuas in 2016 to earn Player of the Year honors in the Pacific Coast League.

On September 21, he had an interesting debut for the Padres when Edwin Escobar of the Arizona Diamondbacks intentionally walked him after being called up as a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning.

Along with Carlos Asuaje and Manuel Margot, he was one of three San Diego players to make his major league debut in that contest.

He did not take long to establish himself in the big, though, as on September 27th, he drove in all seven runs for the San Diego Padres in a 7-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers by hitting his first career grand slam and adding a three-run homer.
