Ian Bunting is a tight end in the National Football League who plays for the Dallas Cowboys. He is 2.01 meters tall and 117 kilograms. He played both offense and defense in football while he was a student at Hinsdale Central High School. He produced 12 tackles and two sacks on defense in addition to his 27 pass grabs for 583 yards and four touchdowns.

He chose to attend the University of Michigan after high school and played collegiate football there for the Michigan Wolverines team. Prior to making five catches as a freshman in 2015, he redshirted his freshman year. In 2016, he made five receptions once more, but as a junior in 2017, he only made one.

He appeared in 34 games for the Michigan Wolverines prior to enrolling at the University of California. At the University of California, he continued to play football for the California Golden Bears. He played in 13 games with four starts. Bunting, an undrafted free agent who was passed over in the NFL Draft, was signed by the Chicago Bears in 2019.

In September 2019, the New York Jets added him to their practice squad. He signed a futures contract with the Arizona Cardinals in January 2021. Bunting signed and became a member of the Dallas Cowboys practice squad in September 2021. He was placed on injured reserve on August 15, 2022, after being injured.
