Mondesi signed with the Kansas City Royals of Major League Baseball in the year July 27, 2011. When he first signed, he got a bonus of $2 million. His debut was in the year 2012 with the Idaho Falls Chukars of the Rookie-Level Pioneer League.

According to the reports, he is known to be the first player in history that made his first appearance in the World Series with the Royals in the third game in the year October 2015 which was against the New York Mets. In a total of 50 games, he batted.290/.346/.386 with three home runs. Baseball America listed him as the team’s seventh-best prospect.

Mondesi was added to the active roster in 2015 during the World Series. When it was confirmed that he was the first player to make his major league debut since Bug Holliday in 1885, he made a pinch-hit during the championship series.
