Bobby Witt Jr is an American professional baseball shortstop and third baseman for the Kansas City Royals of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was selected second overall by the Royals in the 2019 Major League Baseball draft.



Bobby’s father, Bobby Witt Sr. is known as a player agent with Octagon Baseball and is his son’s advisor. Besides being a player agent, Witt Sr. played parts of 16 seasons as a pitcher in Major League Baseball.

Bobby grew up as a baseball lover and began playing while college at Oklahoma University. His outstanding performance earned him one of the top prospects for the 2019 Major League Baseball draft.



In 2018, he batted.446 with 10 home runs as a junior. He won the High School Home Run Derby at Nationals Park that summer.

He also participated in the Perfect Game All-American Classic at Petco Park and the Under Armour All-America Baseball Game at Wrigley Field, where he hit a home run and was voted team MVP.

The Kansas City Royals selected him with the second overall pick. He made his professional debut with the Rookie-level Arizona League Royals after signing for $7.79 million.

He batted.262/.317/.354 in 37 games, with one home run, 27 RBIs, and nine stolen bases.
