American pitcher Chad Michael Kuhl, who plays for the Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball, was born on September 10, 1992.  He once represented the Pittsburgh Pirates in Major League Baseball.

Kuhl played first base and pitched for the school’s baseball team while he was a student at Middletown High School in Middletown, Delaware.

In 2010, he was selected for the All-Delaware team. At the University of Delaware, where he later enrolled, he continued playing baseball.

According to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, it was Kuhl’s first career shutout, making him the first pitcher to do so against the Dodgers in six years.

Although the veteran’s season has been inconsistent, his 3.49 ERA and 1.31 WHIP are now career-best numbers.

In 4.2 innings pitched against the Padres on Wednesday, Kuhl gave up three runs on seven hits, four walks, and two strikeouts. He received no decision.

Kuhl gave up at least six hits for the sixth time in seven starts, but the four walks tied a season-best. These two circumstances made the right-outing hander ineffective, as he needed 95 pitches (51 strikes) to record 14 outs.

The Rockies were down when he left the game, but they came back to tie it twice before taking the lead permanently in the seventh inning.
Through 92 innings in 17 starts, Kuhl has a 4.11 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and 65:37 K: BB ratio. After the All-Star break, he’ll most likely make his next start.
