Jack Mayfield is currently a professional baseball infielder for the Los Angeles Angels of Major League Baseball. He was born on September 30, 1990, and is currently 31 years old.

Jack Mayfield attended Del Rio High School and was born (and still resides) in the border town of Del Rio, Texas. He also grew up in a multilingual home because of his Hispanic mother, Maria, who lived only four miles from the Mexican border.

He attended the University of Oklahoma from 2010 to 2013, during which time he played college baseball for the Oklahoma Sooners.

The Houston Astros selected Mayfield as an undrafted free agent in 2013. For Houston in 2019, he made his major league debut. He has taken part in MLB games with the Houston Astros, Los Angeles Angels, and Seattle Mariners.

In 2011, he took part in the Brewster Whitecaps’ collegiate summer baseball program of the Cape Cod Baseball League.

On June 16, 2013, the Astros signed Mayfield as an undrafted free agent. He split his rookie campaign in 2013 between the Vermont Lake Monsters and the Greeneville Astros. He played for the Lancaster JetHawks and the Quad Cities River Bandits in 2014.

On February 25, 2021, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim claimed Mayfield off waivers.

On April 27, 2021, the Seattle Mariners claimed Mayfield off waivers. Seattle designated Mayfield for assignment after he went 6-for-34 in his 11 games with the team.

On June 13, 2021, the Los Angeles Angels, who had previously claimed Mayfield off waivers, optioned him to the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees.
On July 6, 2021, he was promoted to the Angels.
