Jamien Sherwood is a linebacker with the New York Jets of the National Football League. He attended Auburn University and participated in collegiate football.

Sherwood received their secondary education at Jensen Beach High School, which is located in Jensen Beach, Florida. He made a verbal commitment to play college football for Auburn University.

Sherwood had a total of 23 tackles, one interception, and 1.5 sacks during his true freshman season at Auburn in 2018. In addition, he participated in all 13 games during that season.

In 2019, he was a sophomore and played in 13 games, recording 43 tackles. Sherwood made his debut in the starting lineup for the first time in 2020, when he was a junior. At the end of the season, he finished with 75 tackles and one sack.

The New York Jets chose Sherwood in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, making him the 146th overall pick in the draft.

Sherwood suffered a torn Achilles during Week 7 of the season, and on October 26, 2021, he was placed on injured reserve, which ended his season. Injuries to the Achilles tendon are among the worst that an athlete can sustain, and Sherwood may have to sit out all or part of the 2022 season in order to recover.
