Jose Devers is a Dominican professional baseball shortstop for the Miami Marlins of Major League Baseball (MLB). The New York Yankees signed free agency Rafael Devers to a contract in 2016 as an international free agent.

A member of the Dominican Summer League Yankees and Gulf Coast League Yankees in 2017, he made his major league debut in 2017 with a career-best batting average of.245 with one home run, 16 RBIs, and 16 stolen bases in 53 games.

The Miami Marlins acquired outfielder Rafael Devers (along with teammates Starlin Castro and Jorge Guzmán) and financial considerations in exchange for Devers on December 11th, 2017.

His.273 average and 24 RBIs in 85 games with the Greensboro Grasshoppers in 2018 make him an intriguing prospect.

During the season, he also appeared in two games for the Jupiter Hammerheads. For the start of 2019, Devers returned to Jupiter, but he missed time due to injuries; he batted across 33 games. 325.

Salt River Rafters selected him for the Arizona Fall League following the season.

Rafael Devers, Devers’ cousin, made his Major League Baseball debut in 2017 with the Boston Red Sox. The Miami Marlins will play the Boston Red Sox in a three-game series at Fenway Park in May 2021.
