He signed a $600,000 signing bonus[9] and made his professional debut with the Class A Midwest League’s West Michigan Whitecaps.

In August, he was promoted to the Lakeland Flying Tigers of the Florida State League’s Class A-Advanced division. Clemens hit .288/.365/.450 with five home runs and 20 RBIs in 52 games between the two teams.

Clemens started the 2019 season with Lakeland before being promoted to the Erie SeaWolves at the finish. Between the two teams, he batted in 128 games. With 12 home runs and 63 RBIs, he hit 231/.310/.397.
