Nelson Cruz whose real name is Nelson Ramon Cruz Martinez Jr. is a Dominican-American professional baseball designated hitter as well as a right fielder who was born on July 1, 1980, in Las Matas de Santa Cruz, Dominican Republic. According to Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post, Cruz suffered a sprained ankle in the fourth inning of Sunday’s victory over the Brewers. Sunday’s top of the fourth inning saw Cruz sustain an injury while sliding into second base, but he continued to play.
