O’Terrius Jabari “O. J.” Howard is an American football tight end who currently plays for the Houston Texans of the National Football League.
Howard was born on November 19, 1994. (NFL). After participating in football at the collegiate level for the Alabama Crimson Tide,
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected him in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Autauga Academy was located in Prattville, Alabama, and Howard went there. Both Rivals.com and Scout.com ranked Howard as a five-star recruit and listed him as the best tight end in his class.
This ranking was based on Howard’s performance as a high school player. He has made a verbal agreement to play college football for the University of Alabama.
At Alabama, when he was a freshman, he participated in 13 games and started five of them. He recorded 38 catches, 602 yards receiving, and two touchdowns during his junior season.
After making five receptions for 208 yards and two touchdowns during Alabama’s victory over Clemson in the College Football Playoff National Championship game in 2016,
he was named the Offensive Most Valuable Player of the game. His best performance of the season came in a game that they lost to Clemson by a score of 35–31.
The vast majority of NFL analysts and scouts believed that Howard would be selected in the first round of the draft after he finished his college career.
He was able to improve his stock by having a substantial week of practice for the Senior Bowl, and a panel of scouts selected him as the top practice player of the week for the Senior Bowl.
This allowed him to raise his value significantly. At the end of the game, Howard finished with four receptions for 39 receiving yards, which contributed to the South’s victory over the North by a score of 16–15.
