Is Tyler Zuber Good?

Zuber’s competitiveness and bulldog mindset are praised by the Royals. Zuber is a zone filler who isn’t hesitant to go after any batter.

In 78.1 innings of his work, he has a 2.64 BB/9 rate and a 1.34 WHIP. Baseball players who can compete on the mound are quite useful.

Tyler Zuber was drafted in the sixth round of the 2017 MLB Draft by the Kansas City Royals. Zuber has recently graduated from Arkansas State University.

Zuber pitched for the Burlington Royals in his first professional season. He was called up to the Lexington Legends the following year.

By year three, he had worked his way through the system and was ready to make his MLB debut for the Royals.

Zuber threw his first major league pitch on July 24, 2020, during a year when fans were not allowed in the stands owing to a global pandemic.

On our podcast, The Royals Rundown, Jacob Milham of Inside The Royals and I had the opportunity to interview Zuber recently.

This was a fantastic opportunity, and we appreciate Tyler’s time. We talked about his promotion to the major leagues and his time with manager Mike Matheny in this episode.

We also discussed how players like Danny Duffy, Greg Holland, and Wade Davis influenced him as a pitcher.

We all enjoy collecting baseball cards, and Tyler gave us an overview of how he got into the pastime and how it has changed since he first opened a pack of cards
