J. J. Watt, also known as Justin James Watt, is an American football defensive end who competes for the National Football League’s Arizona Cardinals. He is 131 kg and 1.96 m tall. He attended Pewaukee High School, where he lettered in football four years, and played high school football there. His senior year, he won the Woodland Conference Player of the Year Award.

He was named to the first teams of the All-State, All-County, All-Area, and Conference teams as both a defensive end and tight end. He received financial aid from Central Michigan University to attend. He spent a year at Michigan before transferring to Wisconsin-Madison, where he played collegiate football for the Wisconsin Badgers.

In the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans selected Watt. The Texans offered him a four-year contract on July 31, 2011. He signed a $28 million, two-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals in March 2021, with $23 million of that sum being guaranteed. He has earned the AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award three times in his first five seasons and is recognized as one of football’s all-time greatest defensive linemen.

He holds the record for both forced fumbles and sacks for the Texans. In 2017, Sports Illustrated named him Sportsman of the Year. On October 2, 2022, he tweeted that he had gone into atrial fibrillation and needed a jolt to his heart to get it back into rhythm.

Derek Watt on the other hand plays football as fullback for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League.
