Professional linebacker for the National Football League’s Kansas City Chiefs is Jack Cochrane. He stands 1.9 meters tall and weighs 107 kilograms. At the University of South Dakota, he participated in college football for the South Dakota Coyotes team. He participated in the final seven games of the 2017 campaign as a freshman while also playing linebacker on special teams.
Over that time, he made 11 tackles, including 2.5 for losses. He was one of 10 Coyotes who started all 11 games in 2018, earning CoSIDA Academic All-District recognition. He recorded two pass breakups, one forced fumble, one recovery, and second-most tackles on the team overall.
As one of 53 athletes chosen for the FCS Athletic Directors Association Academic All-Star Team in 2019, he served as the team’s captain. He led the club in interceptions, forced fumbles, and fumble recoveries with two each. One of the 15 Coyotes that started every game in 2020 and 2021 was him. He finished as the fourth-leading tackler on the squad with 28 stops.
He also broke up a pass and hurried two quarterbacks. Cochrane signed a contract as an undrafted free agent in May 2022 with the Kansas City Chiefs. He was freed on August 30th, 2022, and joined the practice squad the next day. He was incorporated into the Chiefs’ active roster on September 13, 2022.
