How Tall Is Jack Suwinski?
Jack Suwinski stands at a height of 1.88 m.
Altoona’s outfielder was named Pirates Prospects Player of the Week. The first of our weekly awards went to Connor Scott.
The Altoona bats are now 2-for-2, and outfielder Jack Suwinski was named our Pirates Prospect Player of the Week, beating out catcher Henry Davis.
From April 18th to April 24th, Suwinski had a .458/.500/.917 slash line in 26 plate appearances over six games.
He hit 11 of 24 batters for seven runs, five doubles, two home runs, and nine RBIs. With a 1.417 OPS, he topped all Pirates hitters, and no one came close to matching his slugging percentage for the week.
Suwinski, 23, is returning to Altoona/Double-A this season, owing to the large number of outfield prospects currently in Indianapolis.
Travis Swaggerty, Cal Mitchell, and Canaan Smith-Njigba are among the players on the roster, as are Bligh Madris, who had a strong spring for the Pirates, and Oneil Cruz, who is still learning the position.
Suwinski was acquired by the Pirates in the Adam Frazier deal in the middle of the season. He had a.949 OPS in 66 games at Double-A prior to the trade.
In 45 games with the Pirates after the trade, he had a .750 OPS. That’s an average score, 20 points more than the league average, but not very noteworthy.
He’s off to a .353/.421/.686 start in 13 games this season, so he was already doing well before his Player of the Week effort, though he really cranked it up this week.
During the offseason, Suwinski was added to the Pirates’ 40-man roster. He didn’t make the top 30 prospects list in our group, but he didn’t fall far short.
He was ranked in the top 30 by three of our five writers. In our poll, he came in 31st place. He did, however, make Baseball America’s, MLB Pipeline’s, and Fangraphs’ top 30 lists, finishing as high as 24th.
