A pitcher for the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball, Jacob Alan Lemoine is an American professional baseball player (MLB).

During his high school years, Lemoine attended Bridge City High School in Texas. The Texas Rangers selected him in the 21st round of the 2012 MLB draft, placing him 666th overall, but he declined to sign with them.

He spent three years at the University of Houston, where he played college baseball for the Cougars, from 2013 to 2015.

To his credit, in 18 13 innings pitched for the 2014 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team, the right-hander went 2–2 with a 2.45 ERA and went 2–2. He was limited to just five games as a junior in 2015 due to a right shoulder ailment.

 

As part of the Texas Rangers’ 2015 MLB draft selection, he signed a $528,000 bonus contract with them.

 

After undergoing rotator cuff surgery due to difficulties with his right shoulder in 2015 and 2016, Lemoine did not play in a single professional game during those years.

 

The Hickory Crawdads of the Class A South Atlantic League drafted him in 2017 and he made his professional debut that year, going 3-4 with a 2.96 ERA in 70 innings.

 

A Class A-Advanced Carolina League Downeast wood duck, he went 3-4 with a 2.40 earned run average in 56 innings last year.

 

It was an uneventful year for him, as he threw 54+2/3 innings with a 4.45 ERA for the Frisco RoughRiders and Nashville Sounds of the Double-A Texas League and Triple-A Pacific Coast League in 2019.

Because of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Minor League Baseball season was canceled in 2020.

To summarize his time in Triple-A, Lemoine went 7-4 with a 2.86 earned run average and 43 strikeouts in 56+2/3 innings for the Round Rock Express of the Western Conference in 2021. After the 2021 season, he was a free agent.
