Jacob Stallings is an American professional baseball catcher for the Miami Marlins of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2016.
At the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Stallings played college baseball for the North Carolina Tar Heels after graduating from Brentwood Academy in Brentwood, Tennessee.
He was a member of the Chatham Anglers of the Cape Cod Baseball League in 2009 and 2010. Stallings was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 42nd round of the 2011 MLB draft, but he chose to return to North Carolina for his last year of high school instead.
He signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates after being selected by them in the seventh round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft.
That year, Stallings made his professional debut with the State College Spikes, who put him on the field for 66 games, batting.230/.324/.332. Toward the end of the season, he also appeared in a game for Altoona Curve.
For the Bradenton Marauders in 2013, he hit.219 with six home runs and 23 RBIs in 78 games, and for the Marauders again in 2014, he hit.219 with six home runs and 23 RBIs in 78 games. In 68 games, he hit 241 with four home runs and 30 RBIs.
