Jacob Timothy Bird, professionally called Jake Bird happens to be an American-born professional baseball pitcher. He plays for the Colorado Rockies baseball team. He is 1.91 m tall and weighs 91 kg.
Jake had his non-professional baseball moments at West Ranch High School in Stevenson Ranch, California and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). In 2016, he played collegiate summer baseball for the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod Baseball League.
After he graduated from the University, he was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 5th round of the 2018 MLB draft. He signed with the Rockies and made his professional debut that season with the Grand Junction Rockies of the Rookie-level Pioneer League. The Rockies assigned him to the Asheville Tourists of the Class A South Atlantic League for the 2019 minor league season.
He spent the 2021 season playing for the Hartford Yard Goats of the Double-A Northeast. He was promoted during the season to the Albuquerque Isotopes of the Triple-A West. The Rockies chose him to play in the Arizona Fall League for the Salt River Rafters when the season ended.
In 2022, Jake played again for the Albuquerque Isotopes of the Triple-A West. He was promoted to the major leagues in June 2022 and he made his MLB debut on June 16, 2022.
