Jake Brentz is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Kansas City Royals of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was drafted in the 11th round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft by the Toronto Blue Jays.



Prior to joining his current team, he pitched for the Blue Jays and the Seattle Mariners. Gulf Coast Blue Jays gave Brentz his professional debut.

Low-A Evertt AquaSox was his final team. Everett and Clinton LumberKings shared the season in 2016, while he also appeared in two games for Tacoma Rainiers Triple-A.

Arquimedes Caminero was traded to the Pirates in exchange for Brentz and Pedro Vasquez.

Brentz played for the Bradenton Marauders and the Altoona Curve in the High-A and Double-A levels in 2017 and 2018.

When Brentz was called up to Triple-A Indianapolis Indians, he began the season with Altoona.

The Kansas City Royals have signed minor leaguer Brentz. He concluded the season with a 3.38 ERA and 8.4 K/9 in 5.1 innings with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals of Double-A.

Royals Opening Day roster: Brentz got his contract picked to the 40-man roster and it was announced.
