Jake Cousins (born July 14, 1994) is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently pitches for the Milwaukee Brewers. The Washington Nationals selected him in the 20th round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft.
The Milwaukee Brewers bought Cousins’ contract from Schaumburg on July 17, 2019, after being impressed by his performance.
Cousins was sent to the Arizona League Brewers Blue after signing with the Brewers before being promoted to the Class A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
Cousins went 3-0 with a 1.91 ERA in 14 games between the AZL Brewers and the Wisconsin Badgers, striking out 39 batters in 28.1 innings.
With permission from the Brewers, he returned to independent baseball and signed with the Chicago Dogs of the American Association of Professional Baseball on July 19, 2020, when the minor league season was canceled in 2020.
Cousins made 15 appearances for Chicago and had a 3.38 ERA at the end of the season. After eight appearances with the Double-A Biloxi Shuckers in 2021, he was promoted to the Triple-A Nashville Sounds.
Cousins was promoted to the major leagues for the first time on June 21, 2021, when he was named to the 40-man roster. Prior to his call-up, Cousins had a 2.55 ERA in 16 games between Biloxi and Nashville.
That day, he made his MLB debut against the Arizona Diamondbacks, tossing two shutout innings of relief. He struck out Diamondbacks catcher Stephen Vogt for his first career strikeout in the game, one of five on the night.
Cousins earned his first career victory on July 7 against the New York Mets, tossing a scoreless inning in relief. Until his 18th pitching appearance, Cousins had not allowed an earned run.

Since Cousins married his high school girlfriend Kelsey Ridderhoff on December 16, 2017, in Beach Park, Illinois, not much has been heard about the pair again.
However, the wedding took place in Beach Park. They do not currently have any children together, and we feel that if they did, they would make that information available to us through the social media accounts that they use.
