In the fourth round of the 2021 CFL Draft, the Barrie, Ontario native was selected by the Ottawa RedBlacks with the 31st overall pick. He made the decision to remain at Ypsilanti for the 2021 season after being chosen in an effort to increase his chances of playing in the NFL.



Julien began the season on the Ray Guy award watch list in addition to being selected to the fourth team preseason All-American and first-team preseason All-Mid-American conference by Phil Steele’s College Football Preview.

Julien had a strong last season with the Eagles, receiving a second-team All-Mid-American pick despite not making the first-team All-MAC squad after 51 punts went for 2,343 yards.
