Jacob Martin entered the National Football League in the sixth round (186th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft, with the Seattle Seahawks. The outside linebacker is currently in his fifth season in the NFL.

Martin started his football career at Cherokee Trail High School in Aurora, Colorado.

Martin was a key contributor to the Cougars’ 10-3 record in 2013, which they posted with his help. As a senior, he recorded 44 tackles, including 27 solo stops, 8 tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks.

After graduating from high school, Martin attended Temple University, where he played four seasons of college football for the Temple Owls.

Martin was one of only two first-year players who had a significant impact on either the offense or the defense. He made his collegiate debut in week 1 against Vanderbilt, where he played an important role on special teams and also contributed on defense.

Martin participated in the defensive line rotation and on special teams for all but one of the games he played in during his sophomore year. His first career sack came against the quarterback for Penn State, Christian Hackenberg
