For the Dallas Cowboys, a professional football team in the National Football League, Jacob McQuaide is the long snapper. He is 108 kg and 1.88 m tall. Elder High School was his alma mater, and there he also participated in football. He assisted the football team in capturing the OHSAA State Championship as a sophomore. He recorded ten catches for 125 yards as a senior tight end.

He began his college football career as a walk-on for the Ohio State Buckeyes after completing his high school education. He alternatively played long snapper in the first seven games as a redshirt freshman. He was named the team’s long snapper for punts and place kicks as a sophomore.

He continued to serve as the team’s long snapper throughout his time in college, but he was never allowed to play tight end or provide any stats there. He participated in three Big Ten Conference victories (2007, 2008 and 2009). After the 2011 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Rams signed McQuaide as an undrafted free agent. He reconnected with Rams special teams coach John Fassel when he joined with the Dallas Cowboys in March 2021.

McQuaide re-signed with Dallas in March 2022 on a one-year deal. On his final snap of the fourth game against the Washington Commanders, he tore his left triceps, forcing him to enter the injured reserve list.
