Baseball outfielder with the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball, Jacob Berkshire Meyers was born in the United States on June 18, 1996. For the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Meyers played baseball in college.

In the 2017 MLB Draft, the Astros picked him in the 13th round. August 2021 saw him make his MLB debut.

He was given the Tri-City ValleyCats as his team after joining them.

Prior to being moved up to the Buies Creek Astros of the Class A-Advanced Carolina League, Meyers began the 2018 season with the Class A Quad Cities River Bandits.

Meyers participated in 49 games and 163 plate appearances during the regular season of 2021.

He hit.260/.323/.438 with six home runs, 28 RBI, 10 bases on balls, and 50 strikeouts. He also had 10 bases on balls. He played center field in 39 of them, left field in 4, and right field in 3 of them.

Despite only contributing to one outfield assist and one mistake, his effort was given a +4 overall Defensive Runs Saved (DRS) rating.

Meyers hurt his left shoulder while attempting to catch a home run ball hit by Gavin Sheets in Game 4 of the American League Division Series (ALDS) against the Chicago White Sox.

The remainder of the Astros’ World Series run was not completed with him on the field. His left shoulder’s torn labrum required surgery on November 10 in order to be repaired, which was expected to cause him to miss the start of the 2022 season.

Three girls are his. Ottilie, the couple’s first child, was born in 2014 to Jake and his wife. In 2016, his wife gave birth to a second daughter, whom she named Poppy. Additionally, Sienna, the third daughter, was born in 2020.
