In 2012, the Kansas City Royals promoted pitcher Jake Odorizzi to the major leagues.

One earned run in nearly 90 innings was all that Odorizzi allowed in his senior year of high school. he was drafted in the supplementary first round by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2008.

Harvey Kuenn Jr., the scout who signed him, paid him $1.06 million despite the fact that he was eligible to play baseball and football at the University of Louisville. That July, he played in his first professional game for the AZL Brewers.

With the AAA Durham Bulls, he compiled a 9-6 record and a 3.33 era over the course of 22 appearances. In 124 1/3 innings pitched in the International League, he had 124 strikeouts against 124 walks and one hit batsmen.
