Professional football player Jalen Thompson is a safety for the National Football League’s Arizona Cardinals. He stands 1.80 meters tall and weighs 86 kilograms. He went to La Serna High School, where as a sophomore he received honorable mention All-San Gabriel Valley League. After his sophomore year, he transferred to Downey High School, where he played cornerback and wide receiver.

He was selected All-CIF and All-San Gabriel Valley League in his junior and senior years. He attended Washington State University for both his undergraduate studies and his football career. He played in all 39 of Washington State’s games throughout his college career, starting all of them, and finished with 191 tackles, six interceptions, and 17 passes broken up.

He entered the 2019 NFL Supplemental Draft after being ruled ineligible for his final season at Washington State, and the Arizona Cardinals selected him in the fifth round. He signed a four-year deal with the Cardinals in July 2019. In September 2019, Thompson made his NFL debut in a game against the Detroit Lions. He got his first start of his career in October 2019.

In the 2020 season, he was the Cardinals’ starting strong safety. On September 2, 2022, he consented to a three-year, $40 million contract extension with the Cardinals through the 2025 season, with $24.5 million of that sum being guaranteed.
